Description

New York Herald Sunday Comic Section Tear Sheets Bound Volume (New York Herald, 1908-10). A bound collection of 180 tear sheets of Sunday strips from the Platinum Age of comics. Strips featured within these pages include Little Nemo in Slumberland, Buster Brown, Angelic Angelina, The Terrors of the Tiny Tads, Boys Will Be Boys, Waggles in Wonderland, and Monkey Shines of Marseleen. Pages have been bound together in a cardboard cover with leather spine and accents, each sheet hand-numbered in pencil indicating a sequence, for which an index is not included. The sheets are from the years 1908-1910, separated by year, but not chronologically in order by year. The years 1908 and 1909 are much more represented than is the year 1910. With over 90 Little Nemo features included, it appears that most of the Little Nemos in the period span are included. The sheets are in overall Very Good condition with tanning, chipping top edges, and a few pages have come loose. The cover is in Good condition with staining, peeling leather, and handling wear.
