Description
John Gee - "Hansel and Gretel" Print Group of 10 (c. 1930s). Set of test prints of a Hansel and Gretel book illustration with a stylized witch hovering over the two children. These are printed in three colors on paper measuring (on average) 11.25" x 17.5" with an image area of 8.25" x 10.25". All have "Hansel and Gretel" written under the image; all but one are signed by John Gee (1895 - 1977) and numbered, with the unnumbered print as #7 in the set. These prints were found in his personal archives. Good condition with foxing and other stains; small cuts in paper (on registration marks); and handling wear.More information about Gee, John Artist.
