Description
EC Ghoulunatics Complete Photo Set Group of 3 with Original Mailing Envelope (EC, 1952). Often advertised in the letters pages of EC's horror titles, this group includes a complete set of all three "Ghoulunatic" photos with the original mailing envelope. During the pre-Code horror craze of EC Comics, editor Al Feldstein came up with the idea of selling "signed" photographs of the beloved horror hosts -- the Crypt Keeper, the Vault Keeper, and the Old Witch. These portraits are actually edited photos of Vault of Horror artist Johnny Craig, with makeup applied by Feldstein. This array is the original non-glossy, fine-screen printed set on thicker cardstock, not the 1960s reprint set. Light toning and handling wear to photos; creasing, minor tears, toning, and handling wear to opened envelope. Photos in Excellent condition; envelope in Very Good condition.Auction Info
