Carter the Great Eight Sheet "Spirit Cabinet" Show Poster (Otis Litho, 1926). American stage magician Charles Joseph Carter (1874-1936) was known as Carter the Great. Some of his more notable acts were the classic "sawing a woman in half" illusion, making a live elephant disappear, and '"cheating the gallows." On this spectacular stone litho eight sheet, Carter plies his craft using his "Spirit Cabinet" in which he places a member of the audience in the cabinet so that they may answer the question, "Do the Dead Materialize?" Printed by Otis Litho. The four separate pieces are folded flat, with edge/corner wear, some minor rips, and fold-splits. They combine into an 80" x 106" Eight-Sheet style poster. In Good condition.
