Description
Captain Space Toy Set in Original Box (Ajax Plastics, 1952). This is a complete Captain Space set of ten space crew of seven men and three women, and their ten clear plastic helmets in the original intact box, as produced in 1952 by Ajax Plastics Corporation of New York. There are six different poses. Eight of the figures remain secured by rubber bands to the original backing board, and they are inside their original illustrated box with die-cut illustrated display card projecting at the top. On the bottom of the box are four illustrated cards that are perforated at the edges, yet none have been removed.Produced in purple, silver, gold, green, and bronze-color hard plastic, the Space figures are 3" to 3.25" in height, while the clear plastic helmets are 1.25" in height. The box is near-complete with one small inner flap missing and one inner flap loose; the cellophane covering for the window is missing. The figures are in excellent condition and show no signs of wear or use; the box has aged and darkened, with edge wear and creasing, and is lightly warped from exposure to moisture. There is pencil writing on the underside of the box. Box condition is Very Good, while toys are in Near Mint condition.
