Captain Action - Prototype Figure (Ideal, 1965). This early Captain Action protype was originally owned by GI Joe executive Don Levine, and comes with a hand-written letter of authenticity, signed by Levine. This outstanding figure was probably the last step in the development process, as it is very similar to the final production model. It features an unpainted head with "Ideal Toy Corp. 1966" stamped on the back of the neck and the back of the shoulders; there is also some untrimmed "flash" material at the elbows, shoulders, and ankles. The figure is in near mint C9+ condition, with only the slightest overall handling wear, and no cracks. It is still tightly strung and sturdy. A true rarity for Captain Action collectors!
