"The Art of the Disney Store" Seven Dwarfs Store Display (Walt Disney, c. 1990s). "Ho Hum the tune is dumb the words don't mean a thing. Isn't this a silly song, for anyone to sing!" The Disney Store opened its first store in Glendale, California on 3/28/87. It was an overnight retail sensation and the chain grew globally reaching its peak in 1997 with 749 locations. Each store was decorated with large-scale displays showcasing famous moments in Disney animation history and intended to give a theme park-like experience This is one of the single most elaborate Disney Store display pieces ever brought to market. It features all seven dwarfs -Doc, Happy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Grumpy, and Dopey. It also includes the pipe organ that Grumpy plays in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The dwarfs range in height from 27" to 30" and the Pipe organ is approximately 32" x 28". It's easily one of the single most impressive Disney Store displays we have seen brought to market.
