    Description

"The Art of Lee Blair" Etchings and Master Plate Group (Walt Disney, c. 1930s). Lee Blair (1911 -1993), husband of Mary Blair, first worked at Disney in theatrical shorts before moving onto story development on Fantasia. He also was one of the leading artists and president of the California Water Color Society. Here is one of the earliest examples of the Art of Lee Blair. He began his art career in the early 1930s doing Fine Art engraved etchings. This is a series of six of his work. They appear to be his personal proofs, and were pinned up at some point. Also with this lot is a set of 10 copper and silver master plates that he used to make these prints from. Unique perspective of the early art career of Mr. Lee Blair. Plates are sold as-is. Minor handling and edge wear. Overall condition is Good. From the Mary Blair Family Trust.
