Description

"Pack Shop" Cigarette Vending Machine (c. 1920s-40s). Cigarette vending machines were first introduced in America in 1926. One of the most interesting pieces in this auction is this very early black metal and tin cigarette machine called "Pack Shop." It stands 81" x 28" wide, with glass and a metal plate that reads, "When coin slot is closed, machine is empty." Another tag reads, "A reward of $100 will be paid for information leading to arrest and conviction of person using slugs or feloniously tampering with this machine. Pack Shops Inc. New York, N.Y. Model 107 Serial # 1495." No keys are with this machine; sold strictly "as is" with no implied warranty. Minor handling and wear from in-park display and use. Good condition.
