    Playboy Group (HMH Publishing, 1954-55) Condition: Average VG. From the first two years of the milestone men's magazine's existence, here are 13 issues from 1954 and 1955, the highlights being the January, 1955 issue which featured Bettie Page as Playmate of the Month followed by the February, 1955 issue with Jayne Mansfield as Playmate. From 1954: May; July, August, September (Gina Lollobrigida pictorial), October, November, and December. From 1955: January (Bettie Page), February (Mansfield), April, June, September (Marilyn Monroe pictorial), and November (Lollobrigida). For those who liked to "read the articles" there were Ray Bradbury, W. Somerset Maugham, Erskine Caldwell, John Steinbeck, and Herbert Gold, among others - and, of course, those great Playboy cartoons. The books average VG, ranging from GD/VG to Fine condition. Approximate value for this group according to The Confident Collector's Collectible Magazines Price Guide, is $1,700.
