Playboy 1955 Complete Year Group (HMH Publishing, 1955) Condition: Average GD/VG. Two very special issues highlight Playboy's second complete year of publication: the January issue featuring Playmate Bettie Page, and the February issue featuring Playmate Jayne Mansfield. After starting the year off with such a bang, Hef had to give it a rest in March, the only month a new issue wasn't published in the 60+ years history of the magazine. Another notable Playmate in 1955 was Janet Pilgrim, the only repeat Playmate (twice in 1955, once in 1956). Pictorials include: Eartha Kitt, Bunny Yeager, Bettie Page, Marilyn Monroe, Anita Ekberg, and Gina Lollobrigida. Articles/fiction/ features: Erskine Caldwell, Ray Bradbury, John Steinbeck, Herbert Gold, Jack Cole, and Dave Brubeck. The May and June issues' centerfolds are detached at one staple, and the August issue centerfold is detached at both staples, but all are otherwise in very nice condition. Not listed in Overstreet.
