Playboy #1 (HMH Publishing, 1953) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. From a modest initial print run of about 50,000 copies, Hugh Hefner's revolutionary magazine grew to a peak of over 7,000,000 copies printed in November, 1972. If the Marilyn Monroe cover and "Sweetheart of the Month" feature, including perhaps the most famous nude pinup ever, ensured the first issue would sell out, Hefner's smart blend of fiction and non-fiction, humor, interviews, celebrity pictorials, and the "girl next door" -- inspired Playmates of the Month resulted in one of the longest-running magazines still in publication today. This is a nice grade that is surpassed by a relatively few other copies in CGC's census. CGC 2/16 census: 7 in 7.0, 18 higher.

Jared, you and Heritage treated me more than just regarded my comic book pages with more than admiration.
