    Description

Mad #60 Gaines File pedigree (EC, 1961) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. Another truly mind-blowing Mad cover that features a Bob Clarke flip cover based on the hotly contested 1960 Presidential campaign. On one side, Alfred E. Neuman touts the victory of John F. Kennedy. On the other side, he waffles, and celebrates the election of Richard M. Nixon. Maybe young Neuman was just looking ahead to '68! The issue features art by Mort Drucker, Dave Berg, Wally Wood, Don Martin, and Paul Coker Jr, and also has the very first "Spy vs. Spy" feature by Antonio Prohias. This is one of two copies that boast the highest grade yet assigned by CGC for this issue. Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $175. CGC census 10/06: 2 in 9.6, none higher.
