Help! Group (Warren, 1960-65) Condition: Average VG/FN. When a magazine's masthead lists Harvey Kurtzman, Terry Gilliam (of "Monty Python" fame) and Gloria Steinem (yes, that Gloria Steinem), you know you're in for a heck of a ride. This is a near-complete run of what the Comic Art Price Guide called "Kurtzman's last great effort as editor of a newsstand magazine." It's got work by Mad artists like Bill Elder, Jack Davis, and Paul Coker Jr., and these mags are also a must-have for the Underground fan thanks to early published work by Robert Crumb (his contribution to issue #22 was his first professional comics commission) and Gilbert Shelton. Included here are issues #1-13, 17-20, 22, 25, and 26 (the last issue of the series). #1 is FR, the others average VG/FN (many appear VF but have large spine splits). Not listed in Overstreet.
