Gagging the Dictators #nn (Ace Magazines Inc., 1938) Condition: GD/VG. We've had the opportunity to offer this extremely rare magazine only a few times over the past 20+ years! Released prior to World War II, "The Comedy of Terrors" features a painted cover starring Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, and Emperor Hirohito. Pulp artist Leo Morey provided the front and back covers, a notable change from his usual sci-fi output. The issue numbers 50 pages full of satire, parodies, and editorial cartoons centered around the titular dictators: Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and Hirohito. This copy has water damage and staining throughout, small tears to pages and at the staples, and chipping to the front cover. Not listed in Overstreet.Auction Info
