    Description

Alter Ego #1-2 Group (Jerry Bails, 1961). The most important superhero fanzine ever was produced on a humble ditto-master, and sent only to fans who wrote to Jerry Bails by mail. As the late Jerry Weist noted, "the first two to three issues are extremely rare." Here's a GD/VG copy of #1, complete with a handwritten hello by Bails on the first interior page, and a VG copy of #2, a thicker issue with more content, including letters from the likes of Don Thompson and Steve Gerber. Note that it's unlikely that "high-grade copies" exist, since these were folded in half to send through the US mail. Highly recommended!
