World's Finest Comics #3 (DC, 1941) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white pages. Now that the Scarecrow has hit the big screen in the movie "Batman Begins," no Bat-Collector has an excuse not to have the baddie's first appearance. It's right here in this issue, as is the villain's origin. Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson drew the Batman tale. Other characters in this whopping square bound mag include the Sandman (his first outing in this series), Superman, and Johnny Thunder. While the CGC slab says "Jack Burnley cover," that's Fred Ray art if we've ever seen it, and Overstreet has our backs on that point. Only two specimens of the issue have been graded higher as of this writing, and they're both just half a grade higher at 8.5. Overstreet 2005 VF 8.0 value = $2,126. CGC census 7/05: 2 in 8.0, 2 higher. From the Aviator Collection.
