    Whiz Comics #1 (Fawcett Publications, 1940) CGC VG- 3.5 Off-white to white pages. This Golden Age Key was Fawcett's big foray into the budding Golden Age superhero field. For decades, the issue ranked among the Action 1s and Detective 27s of the comic world for stature and value, and it's on the rise again, one of the fastest climbing on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Herein is the origin and first appearance of the Golden Age Captain Marvel, the forerunner of the Bronze Age's Shazam! Also appearing for the first time in this issue are other Fawcett mainstays Sivana, Golden Arrow, Dan Dare, Lance O'Casey, Spy Smasher, and Ibis the Invincible. C. C. Beck cover and art.
