    Description

Tales From the Crypt #44 Gaines File pedigree 1/12 (EC, 1954) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. This issue's guillotine cover by Jack Davis leads into a corresponding story with Graham Ingels art. Also within these covers, the Crypt-Keeper spins a yarn (drawn by Jack Kamen) about a shameless gold digger who misunderstands the phrase "I want you for my wife" (shudder). Terror tales by Davis and Reed Crandall round out the creepiness. Having any Gaines File copy means you've got a sterling specimen, but when it's number 1 of 12 ... it's enough to make you lose your head! Overstreet 2004 NM- 9.2 value = $525. CGC census 12/04: 3 in 9.6, none higher.
