    Description

Superman #17 (DC, 1942) CGC VF/NM 9.0 White pages. Currently only one copy of #17 tops this remarkable book. This is the first time we've had the chance to offer such a nice copy, and an unrestored VF/NM copy has never come up for public auction before! We've recently sold a VF+ 8.5 copy for almost $18,000! The Hitler and Hirohito cover by Fred Ray is a classic, and the Fortress of Solitude, here called "the secret citadel and mountain retreat", makes it's first appearance. Lex Luthor also appears. Joe Shuster art. Overstreet 2016 VF/NM 9.0 value = $9,763; NM- 9.2 value = $14,000. CGC census 2/17: 1 in 9.0, 2 higher.

View the certification for CGC Certification ID 1293294014 and purchase grader's notes if available.
