Description

Young Men #24 (Atlas, 1953) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Should this be considered the first Silver Age comic book? One funnybook expert whose opinion we respect made that claim recently, and we see where he's coming from... and for that matter, why should the revival of one of DC's third-or fourth-best Golden Age characters (Showcase #4) be worth ten times the revival of Timely's top three characters? All in all, this first comic book of the "superhero revival" period seems undervalued to us. The Human Torch, Captain America, and the Sub-Mariner all made their comebacks here, drawn by Russ Heath, John Romita Sr., and Bill Everett respectively. The cover is credited to Carl Burgos. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $888; VF 8.0 value = $1,850. CGC census 3/07: 2 in 7.0, 2 higher. From the Warren Hall Collection.
