    Description

Wonder Woman #1 (DC, 1942) CGC VG+ 4.5 Cream to off-white pages. Wonder Woman charges onto the scene in the first issue of her own comic, starting off a four-decade run. Her household-name status was not far behind! The Amazon's creator, William Moulton Marston, didn't fit the profile of the typical comic book writer, and his unorthodox approach gave his stories an originality that's still striking today. H. G. Peter's art established the signature look of Wonder Woman's early years. As befits a #1 issue, the heroine's origin story is retold and expanded upon here. Overstreet 2012 VG 4.0 value = $5,800. CGC census 7/12: 5 in 4.5, 29 higher.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
