Description

Wonder Woman #1 (DC, 1942) CGC FN- 5.5 Off-white to white pages. This first issue of Wonder Woman's solo title debuted about six months after her debut in All Star Comics #8 (she had appeared in Sensation Comics prior to that). An instant hit, she outgrew the confines of Sensation after just a few months. This issue started a four-decade run for the character, who is still considered one of DC's "Big Three" seven decades later, joining Superman and Batman as the only superheroes in continuous publication during the superhero recession of the early 1950s. The book is currently ranked #61 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list, and this much-in-demand premiere issue is seldom found in high- or even mid-grade. The cover and interior art are by H. G. Peter. CGC notes, "Centerfold detached." Overstreet 2019 FN 6.0 value = $33,000. CGC census 8/19: 9 in 5.5, 37 higher.
