Description

Top-Notch Comics #1 (MLJ, 1939) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white pages. An MLJ milestone, this issue came just one month after the publisher's first comic book, Blue Ribbon Comics #1, and featured the origin and first appearance of the Wizard. The enticing cover by the Unknown Artist is backed by interior art by Jack Cole, Edd Ashe, and Jack Binder. Gerber rates this a "scarce" book, and just one other copy has earned a slightly higher grade from CGC than this high-grade prize. Overstreet 2003 VF 8.0 value = $3,902; VF/NM 9.0 value = $5,851.
