Description

The Human Torch #9 Crowley Copy pedigree (Timely, 1942) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white pages. There seems to be some debate as to whether or not Master Alex Schomburg was responsible for the brilliant General Rommel Nazi War cover; we'll just describe it as Schomburg-esque, which is still pretty darn high praise. The Human Torch and Toro battle the Desert Fox, as he attempts to capture the Suez Canal. The bright yellow background of the logo is set against the yellow sands of the Sahara to create a blinding effect that is particularly lovely on this superbly preserved copy. The book also features a Sub-Mariner backup story and (gasp) hanging panels. You'd be hard pressed to find a better copy than this one! Overstreet 2013 NM- 9.2 value = $6,000. CGC census 2/14: 1 in 9.2, 1 higher.
