    Description

Superman #22 (DC, 1943) CGC VF- 7.5 White pages. One of the more clever and amusing early Superman covers is this masterful rendering by Jack Burnley. The creators of the greatest superhero of all, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, contributed to this issue as well. Other contributing artists include Peter Riss, John Sikela, and Ed Dobrotka. Sharp, bright, and colorful, this is a very attractive comic. Overstreet 2004 VF 8.0 value = $800.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
