Superman #1 Incomplete (DC, 1939) CGC FR 1.0 Cream to off-white pages. Joe Shuster provides the legendary cover, story art, and back cover pin-up for the first issue of Superman. Featuring the Man of Steel's origin story by Jerry Siegel, this all-time classic issue currently ranks #3 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics, only eclipsed by Action Comics #1 and Detective Comics #27.
This copy bears a CVA sticker denoting superior presentation for the assigned grade, exemplified in the striking colors on both the front and back covers. CGC 1.0 copies both complete and incomplete sold for over $100,000 during 2023. CGC notes, "Spine of cover complete split & cover detached. (Coupon cut out of 17th page, does not affect story.)
