Superman #1 (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent VG 4.0 Extensive (P) Cream to off-white pages. Superman proved such a popular character when introduced in Action Comics #1 the year before, that DC had no choice but to give him his own title. Only the Action Comics #1 and Detective Comics #27 rank ahead of this issue on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. It's a Gerber "6" or "uncommon", and the demand for the comic far exceeds the supply! Jerry Siegel story with Joe Shuster cover and art. Of this professionally restored copy, CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cover cleaned, reinforced."
