    Star Spangled Comics #7 Rockford pedigree (DC, 1942) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. The origin and first appearance of the Newsboy Legion, the group of young heroes created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. The team was started out as four kids from Suicide Slum who were in and out of trouble with the law until policeman Jim Harper (aka the Guardian) took them under his wing. The group used its street smarts to assist Harper, becoming a wartime comic book equivalent of the Baker Street Irregulars. Also featured were the first appearances of Robotman, TNT, and Dan the Dyna-Mite. Only the Mile High copy grades higher than this fine pedigreed specimen. Overstreet 2011 VF/NM 9.0 value = $9,066; NM- 9.2 value = $13,000. CGC census 4/12: 2 in 9.0, 1 higher.
