Star Spangled Comics #7 (DC, 1942) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. The most valued of all the issues in the storied run, this book featured the origin and first appearance of the Newsboy Legion, by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, and the Jerry Siegel-created Robotman. And if you want even more, the Guardian makes his first appearance, as do TNT, and Dan the Dyna-Mite. Gerber's Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books rates this book as a "7" or "scarce." Simon and Kirby (almost) did it all -- story, cover, and art. Hal Sherman, Harold Sharpe, Arturo Cazeneuve, and Paul Norris helped just a tad. Overstreet 2020 VF/NM 9.0 value = $10,460; NM- 9.2 value = $15,000. CGC census 10/20: 3 in 9.0, 1 higher.
