Special Edition Comics #1 (Fawcett Publications, 1940) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white pages. An exceptional copy of a key Fawcett comic, this beauty outgrades the Rockford, Billy Wright, Crowley, Crippen, and Promise Collection copies on CGC's census for this issue. This was the first comic book devoted entirely to Captain Marvel (pre-dating Captain Marvel Adventures #1) and the only time he appeared with a belt buckle. The Big Red Cheese's mainstream profile has increased over the past two years, thanks in part to sequel and spin-off films arriving in theaters in 2022 and 2023, marking key books such as this one as potential break-out items.
