Special Edition Comics #1 Denver Pedigree (Fawcett Publications, 1940) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. One sweet copy of a book that seems woefully undervalued! How so? This is the first book devoted entirely to Captain Marvel and pre-dates Captain Marvel Adventures #nn (#1) by seven months. The latter is currently ranked #34 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list, while Special Edition Comics #1 isn't even sniffing the Top 200! There just might be some room for this issue to appreciate... just saying! C. C. Beck cover and interior art. Overstreet 2020 NM- 9.2 value = $17,000.
