Description

Red Raven #1 (Timely, 1940) CGC Apparent VG 4.0 Moderate (P) Tan to off-white pages. As Jack Kirby's first signed work, this cover plays a significant role in comic book history. The title would change to Human Torch Comics after this issue, making this issue even more stand-alone esoteric. Lots of Kirby art is featured on the interior, too, where the does both the Red Raven and the Comet Pierce features. This book seem awfully undervalued for its place in comic book history. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, spine split sealed, seals, cleaned, reinforced." Gerber rates this a "scarce" issue, so don't wait too long before grabbing your own copy. Overstreet 2003 VG 4.0 value = $2,142.
