Description

Red Raven #1 (Timely, 1940) CGC Apparent FN+ 6.5 Moderate (P) Cream to off-white pages. Less than a year after Timely's first comic, Marvel Comics #1, hit the stands, this book appeared. The cover displayed the thrilling work of a young artist who would be "The King." This is Jack Kirby's first signed work in comics. This title would appear for just this issue, and with issue #2 the logo would become The Human Torch. This landmark book has been gaining in popularity and value of late, but is still undervalued compared to some other Timelys from the early Golden Age years. CGC notes that "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, cover reinforced." Overstreet 2002 FN 6.0 value = $3,114.
