Making his second appearance in Police Comics, the Spirit introduced his pal Ebony in this early issue, in a reprinted story by Will Eisner. Jack Cole and Fred Guardineer supply art on backup stories and Gill Fox drew the cover. Other backup features include Manhunter, Chic Carter, and the Human Bomb.
