Pep Comics #17 (MLJ, 1941) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Origin and first appearance of Hangman. "Death" of the Comet. Back cover pin-up featuring Steel Sterling. Cover by Irv Novick. Art by Novick, Bob Wood, and Charles Biro. This is the nicest of only five copies we've offered so far, and only one other (a VF- 7.5) has been certified with a higher grade by CGC to date. CGC notes, "1 small piece of tape on interior cover and 1 small piece on interior." Overstreet 2014 FN 6.0 value = $1,269; VF 8.0 value = $3,000. CGC census 11/14: 1 in 7.0, 1 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
