Pep Comics #17 (MLJ, 1941) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white to white pages. This is the only unrestored copy of this book that CGC has certified to date, and it's a key issue too, the origin and first appearance of the Hangman. It also has the death of the Comet (back when deaths of major characters were not common), and it all ties together because the Hangman is the Comet's brother! The Hangman became one of MLJ's superhero mainstays, having his own title for a while and making frequent appearances elsewhere. Irv Novick was responsible for the cover art, and this copy's front cover has a VF/NM look about it. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $1,026; VF 8.0 value = $2,223.
