Pep Comics #17 Mile High Pedigree (MLJ, 1941) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages. Not only is this Mile High copy the highest-graded copy, but it's only the second time that the Mile High copy of issue #17 has been auctioned, it's the only copy graded above 7.0 to ever be publicly auctioned, and in fact, it's the only copy graded above 7.5 to date! The origin and first appearance of the Hangman is the big draws here, but the death of the Comet also is worth mentioning, since in these early days it was quite remarkable to see any hero killed off. There's also a back cover pin-up featuring Steel Sterling. Irv Novick cover. Overstreet 2021 NM- 9.2 value = $12,000. CGC census 9/21: 1 in 9.6, none higher.CGC Grader Notes:
