Alex Schomburg's creative ability is once again on display here, on this cover featuring a wild Nazi weapon called the "Submerging Fortress #3," a large circular device loaded with cannons and machine guns, waging war on nearby Allied ships, as Toro is in trouble.... again! We wonder why we never saw "Submerging Fortresses #1 and 2"?!? The book also includes the first appearance of the Patriot, a back cover Sub-Mariner pin-up, and a text story by Stan Lee. Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Paul Gustavson, Carl Burgos, and Bill Everett all contribute interior art. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $2,443; VF/NM 9.0 value = $4,272.
