    Description

Jackpot Comics #4 (MLJ, 1941) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white to white pages. This landmark issue features the second appearance of Archie Andrews -- released the same month as his debut in Pep Comics #22 -- as well as his very first cover appearance. It also marks the first appearance of an important supporting cast member, his long-suffering teacher Mrs. Grundy. In other words, this is a must-have for serious Archie collectors. The harrowing cover (featuring the Black Hood) is by Irv Novick, and the interior art is by Novick and Bob Montana. Overstreet 2018 FN 6.0 value = $11,400; VF 8.0 value = $21,700. CGC census 11/18: 2 in 6.5, 5 higher.
