Description
Flash Comics #1-12 Bound Volume (DC, 1940). This fantastic bound volume features several key Golden Age DC first appearances -- among them are those of the Flash, Hawkman, and Johnny Thunder! Included are copies of Flash Comics #1 (first appearances of Flash, Hawkman, Johnny Thunder, the Whip, and Sheira Saunders), #2 (Rod Rian stories begin, first Hawkman cover), #3 (first appearance of King Standish, E. E. Hibbard art begins on Flash), #4 (The Whip cover, Sheldon Moldoff's first Hawkman art), #5 (King Standish cover), 6, 7, #8 (classic Flash cover), 9, #10 (classic Flash cover), #11 (gorilla cover), and #12 (Lee Watts stories begin) that have been trimmed and spiral-bound into a hardcover volume for the office of managing editor M. C. Gaines. The comics also feature art by Stan Aschmeier for the Johnny Thunder stories. The comics were trimmed on all sides (meaning the spines have been trimmed away as well) and have had holes punched along the left edges to accommodate the spiral binding; otherwise the comics are in overall nice condition with bright, glossy covers, off-white to tan pages with some instances of very mild chipping, and mild to moderate wear.
