Description

Detective Comics #38 (DC, 1940) CGC VG- 3.5 Cream to off-white pages. The issue that featured the origin and first appearance of Robin (Dick Grayson) has always been near the top of any Golden Age Comics wishlist, as evidenced by its Overstreet value increase from 2015 to 2016 - 20%, a bigger increase than any of the other early key Detective issues. Like those other early issues, this one's a difficult find in higher grades. Of the 55 Universal copies that CGC has certified to date, most are in lesser grade than our offering. The classic Batman team of Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson collaborated on the cover and interior artwork. Overstreet 2016 VG 4.0 value = $16,000. CGC census 5/17: 5 in 3.5, 22 higher.
