Detective Comics #38 (DC, 1940) CGC Conserved VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. The DC Key that gave us the origin and first appearance of Robin (Dick Grayson) is a hot book. According to Overstreet's 2020 Top 100 Golden Age Comics data, it appreciated in value from 2019 to 2020 at a greater rate than all but three other issues on the list! It's currently ranked #24 on the list. Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson collaborated for one of DC's most recognizable covers and also contributed interior art for the issue, as did Fred Guardineer. CGC notes, "Conservation includes: tear seals to cover, cover cleaned, cover reinforced." Overstreet 2020 GD 2.0 value = $12,600; VG 4.0 value = $25,200; FN 6.0 value = $37,800; VF 8.0 value = $88,200.
