Description

Detective Comics #37 (DC, 1940) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. Near the top of the CGC census for this issue! How tough is it to find in even mid-grades? Well, in the past 10 years we've only offered three copies nicer than 4.0! This issue had the last solo Batman story in Detective Comics prior to Robin's debut in the following issue, and it preceded Batman #1 in 1940. Bob Kane did the cover and also provided interior art, along with Joe Shuster and Fred Guardineer. It's a fixture on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2021 VF 8.0 value = $35,500; VF/NM 9.0 value = $56,750. CGC census 4/22: 1 in 8.5, 1 higher.
