Description
Detective Comics #37 (DC, 1940) CGC Conserved VF 8.0 White pages. The Boy Wonder would be making his first appearance in the very next issue of Detective, so Batman goes solo here for the final time. Creator Bob Kane (with assistance from Jerry Robinson) provided the cover art for the early Dark Knight outing. The many backup features include the Crimson Avenger (who had actually been in this title longer than Batman), Speed Saunders, and Slam Bradley. Fred Guardineer and Joe Shuster both contributed interior art for the issue. Currently, issue #37 is ranked #40 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Conservation includes: spine split sealed to cover, cover cleaned, cover reinforced."
