Detective Comics #35 (DC, 1940) CGC VG- 3.5 Off-white pages. This copy, with the classic Batman hypodermic needle cover by Bob Kane, presents extremely well in its CGC holder, and while there is some discernable wear, this is certainly a "bragging rights" copy. The issue is one of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics, and any copy that's certified as unrestored is hard to come by. This issue's classic cover marked the beginning of Batman's run as the cover star of the title, a streak that is still going today! The book is also famous for its splash panel, which has Batman wielding a smoking gun. Fred Guardineer art. Bill Finger and Jerry Siegel stories. CGC notes, "Tape on cover, interior cover & interior." and " 'Jerry Robinson' written on 1st page in pen." Overstreet 2017 VG 4.0 value = $28,000. CGC census 2/18: 5 in 3.5, 15 higher.
