Detective Comics #30 Billy Wright pedigree (DC, 1939) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. Batman's fourth appearance doesn't come along much in any grade, and certainly not in an unrestored high grade. Overstreet mentions the "classic Batman splash panel" -- it's a grim Batman looming over the top third of the first page. In these choice early issues, the Bat-Man was a different character than he became in later years. As Rob Hughes noted, Batman "was not interested in taking prisoners, rehabilitation or giving these law-breakers a second chance." Like issue #28, this one has a non-Batman cover, a fairly violent scene by Fred Guardineer. Overstreet 2011 VF/NM 9.0 value = $13,800; NM- 9.2 value = $20,000.
