Description

Detective Comics #29 (DC, 1939) CGC Conserved VF 8.0 Off-white to white pages. We seldom encounter restored copies of Batman's second cover appearance that present so nicely in their CGC holders, with near-perfect centering and crisp, vibrant colors. In fact, this is the highest-graded restored copy we've seen in our 23 year history! The Bob Kane cover features the first appearance of Dr. Death, who stars in a two-part story with art by Kane. This classic comic is currently #14 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Conservation includes: tear seals to cover and page 32, cover reinforced, cover cleaned, and staples replaced." In other words, aside from having new staples, this copy features all of its original covers and wraps! Overstreet 2024 GD 2.0 value = $28,700; VG 4.0 value = $57,400; FN 6.0 value = $86,100; VF 8.0 value = $157,800.
