Captain America Comics #38 (Timely, 1944) CGC Apparent VG- 3.5 Slight (B-1) Slightly brittle pages. This early Cap issue features a Human Torch story, and an over-the-top, chaotic bondage/skull/Japanese War/Rising Sun cover by the inimitable Alex Schomburg. Syd Shores, Al Bellman, Vince Alascia, Al Gabriele, and Don Rico handle the interior art chores. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: small amount of color touch on cover, spine splits sealed, cover reinforced. (From a bound volume.)" Overstreet 2014 GD 2.0 value = $360; VG 4.0 value = $720.
