Description

Captain America Comics #3 (Timely, 1941) CGC VG+ 4.5 Cream to off-white pages. A very young Stan Lee contributed his very first comic book work to this wartime issue, starting one of the greatest careers in the history of comics. Of course that's far from the only thing that this book has going for it. There's a classic bondage cover featuring the Red Skull, by the great Alex Schomburg, and of course the issue is one of the earliest appearances of the title character, written and drawn by his creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Issue #3 is currently tied for the #51 spot on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Centerfold detached." Overstreet 2021 VG 4.0 value = $5,600. CGC census 1/22: 3 in 4.5, 31 higher. From the Donald S. Burrell Collection.
